Descendants of Charles Harris (1847 - 1934)

Henry Harris, Grazier married Mary A Hurley in 1841 in the Abercrombie District, Bathurst, New South Wales, Australia and had a son, Charles Harris (1847 - 1934).
Charles Harris born 1847 in O'Connell, Bathurst, New South Wales. He was ordained in 1881 and went on to become Canon Charles Harris in the Church of England.
Charles was Archdeacon of Christ Church Cathedral, Ballarat, Victoria from 1898 to 1913 and then moved back to Beecroft, New South Wales. Charles took about 8 years of extended leave.
Charles retired in 1921 and lived in Rose Bay, Sydney, New South Wales until his death on 4 September 1934 at his residence in Rose Bay, Sydney at the age of 91 years. The funeral was held at St Michael's Vaucluse, Sydney and he was buried at the Old South Head Cemetery in the general Section N, Row 7, grave 310.
Charles Harris married (1) Fanny Cave (1859-1909) in 1876 and had 3 children:
1. Roy Harris (1885-1960) lived most of his life in Canada & died in London.
2. May Harris (1886-1963) remained Single and was a Nurse.

3. Reginald Benson Harris (1888-1963). Reginald had a dispute with his father Charles in about 1908 which caused him to run away and become a sailor on a sailing ship named "Serena Greenock". Reginald and another sailor spent two or three years walking from New York to Vancouver in the hope of visiting his brother Roy who lived in Canada.
Charles Harris married (2) Emily Osborne nee Drury in the Chapel of Bishopscourt in Ballarat. On his 2nd marriage certificate it states that Charles had three living and one deceased child in 1909.
Emily died 1945 in Sydney and is buried at Old South Head Cemetery with her husband.

Reginald Benson Harris (17 November 1888- 23 June 1963) married Hilda Jane Ireland (10 March 1886 - 4 September 1981) in 1911 in Horsham, Victoria. Hilda Jane Ireland was the grand daughter of Richard Davies Ireland QC (1815-1877), who successfully defended the Eureka Stockade miners when they were charged with treason.

Hilda May Harris (1912 - 2007) married Henry Heyliger Dewhurst (28 November 1911 - 6 August 1989) on 16 December 1933 in South Melbourne, Victoria.

Kenneth Henry Dewhurst and Joyce Rogers adopted two children:
1. Robert Kenneth Dewhurst born 17 July 1969 in Melbourne and died 17 October 1995 in Mitcham, Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. Robert was buried at Lilydale Cemetery, Melbourne, Victoria, Australia
2. Leanne Joy Dewhurst born 11 September 1971 in Melbourne. Leanne married a Mexican, Alfonso Rojas in Los Angeles, U.S.A on 1 February 1992 and divorced 12 June 1998, without children. Leanne had a relationship with another Mexican, Julio Reyes. Together they had 3 children - Savannah born 4 April 2005, Temoc born 11 February 2007 and Lali born 12 February 2007 (they are twins).
Leanne died of Pancreatitis on 9 January 2014 after being hospitalised for 13 weeks. Ken cared for the 3 children from October 2013 - February 2014 . Meanwhile Julio had a relationship with Bec Ramage and they had a daughter Amalia born 8 February 2014. In March 2014 Julio and Bec took in his 3 children to make their family of 4.
2. Ian Gilbert Dewhurst was born 9 September 1938 in Hawthorn, Melbourne, Victoria, Australia.
He married (1) Katrina Ann Kirk (born 1 February 1943 in Adelaide, South Australia) in Darling Point, Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. Katrina was the daughter of Arthur Kirk and Mary Moss. Katrina's birth mother was Ida Goldsworthy nee O'Brien.
Ian Gilbert Dewhurst and Katrina Kirk had three children:
1. Shane Anthony Dewhurst born 26 March 1961 in St Lukes Hospital, Kings Cross, Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. Shane married Hiromi Toyoshima (born 2 July 1969 in Himeji City, Hyogo Prefecture, Japan) on 26 October 1995.
2. Craig Ian Dewhurst born 29 July 1962 in Box Hill, Victoria. Craig married Noriko Manabe on 29 April 2001 in Southport, Queensland. They have 2 children: Lily-Rose Amilie Dewhurst born 17 May 2002 in Lismore, N.S.W. and Luke Dewhurst born 6 November 2006 in Lismore, N.S.W.
3. Simon Alan Dewhurst born 24 July 1967 in Mitcham, Victoria. Simon married Nicole Jodie Barker and they have a son Charlton Barker Dewhurst born 8 September 1994 in Melbourne.
Ian married (2) Jennifer Catherine Goulding on 22 December 1976 in Boronia, Victoria. Jennifer was born 16 November 1945 in Deniliquin, New South Wales to William Goulding and Mabyn Phillips.
3. Joan Dewhurst was born 13 August 1940 in Hawthorn, Melbourne, Victoria, Australia.
Joan married Andrew David Garlick (born 1 December 1941 in Yackandandah) on 21 March 1964 in Deepdene, Melbourne. Divorced 1995.
They had three children:
1. Jennifer Lee Garlick, (born 22 July 1965 in Kew, Melbourne) married Lewis Harper (born 4 September 1994 in Heidelberg, Melbourne). Lewis was born 16 September 1955 in New Zealand.
2. Louise Kristine Garlick (born 5 May 1967 in Kew, Melbourne, Victoria) married Peter Diamond (born 1965 in Sydney) on 28 March 1993 in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia.
3. Jason Andrew Garlick (born 19 April 1974 in Box Hill, Melbourne, Victoria).
4. Helen Dewhurst was born 10 August 1944 in Hawthorn, Victoria, Australia.
Helen married Alan Barry Rodda (born 11 May 1938 in Caulfield) on 15 January 1965 at Deepdene Methodist Church.
Helen Dewhurst and Alan Rodda had four children:
1. Paul Milton Rodda, born 28 February 1968, in Melbourne.
2. Anthony Clinton Rodda, born 18 October 1969 in Melbourne.
3. Nicholas Alan Rodda born 24 October 1973 in Melbourne.
